Four years after the Jurassic World theme park was closed down, Owen and Claire return to Isla Nublar to save the dinosaurs when they learn that a once dormant volcano on the island is active and is threatening to extinguish all life there. Along the way, Owen sets out to find Blue, his lead raptor, and discovers a conspiracy that could disrupt the natural order of the entire planet. Life has found a way, again. During a stormy night on the island of Isla Nublar – the site of the Jurassic World theme park that was abandoned three years earlier – a mercenary team uses a small submarine to retrieve DNA from the deceased hybrid dinosaur Indominus rex, whose remains are in the park’s Mosasaurus lagoon. The Mosasaurus destroys the submarine after it sends the DNA sample to the surface, and the remaining mercenaries evacuate with the DNA when the park’s Tyrannosaurus arrives, consequently leaving the lagoon gate open for the Mosasaurus to escape into the ocean.
